Half price return fares for customers travelling across the Spencer Gulf with caravans, trailers and motorhomes until 30 September 2008 are now available with Sea SA.

Grey nomads, families and others on tour with caravans, motorhomes or trailers will benefit when they book and pay for a return ferry trip between the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas, by receiving the return leg of their journey at 50% off the full price.

“We have introduced this incentive for our towing customers, who tell us they prefer the relaxing cruise instead of enduring the 350 kilometre round road trip,” Sea SA Office manager, Sue Cassidy said. 

“However, many have said their budgets won’t quite stretch to the luxury of travelling with us both ways.  We tell them that if they consider the real costs of driving around other than just fuel outlay, they will see that the ferry is actually a more economical and enjoyable option.  For some, though, it’s still the psychological barrier of paying the full ferry fare up-front, hence the introduction of our half-price return fares for caravans and motorhomes during the off peak months, which we think is a win-win situation,” Sue said.

“In effect, Sea SA has created a new ‘highway’ through the heart of South Australia, which continues to grow in popularity as both a tourist trail and major goods transport route,” Sue said.  “With the arrival of our new, custom-built ferry, Sea Spirit, at Easter time, we can now offer our customers a very special ferry experience.”
