Sea SA Car & Passenger ferries has pledged $10,000 worth of free ferry travel to a range of South Australia’s charitable and community organizations, in a bid to help stave off tough times.

Sea SA surprised 5 leading not-for-profit groups with the gesture which Managing Director, Stephanie Dawson says “was designed to bring hope during a climate of doom and gloom.”

CanDo4Kids, the Childhood Cancer Association, Novita Children’s Services, the Royal Society for the Blind and SA Autism will each receive $2,000 worth of vouchers for free ferry travel between the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas, valid for a 12 month period.

“For some families, the global financial crisis is yet another stress on top of the pressures of meeting the ongoing needs of children and adults with disabilities, serious illness or facing some other disadvantage,” Stephanie Dawson said.

“This is a small way in which we can help alleviate that pressure, and give recognition to the great work these organizations do in our community to help so many people in need,” she added.
