Media - and businesses - give ferry the thumbs up!
Sea SA was delighted to welcome the crew from Channel 9's 'Postcards' aboard over the busy Christmas period, so keep watching to see us on the TV! And ABC Radio's Peter Goers graced us in December with his maiden ferry voyage, pausing to sign our on board Visitors' Book.
In his inimitable style, Peter was full of praise for the Spencer Gulf crossing. In February, he was heard on the airwaves interviewing Minister for Tourism, Jane Lomax-Smith, in which he remarked " That ferry is a triumph that goes from Walla-bloody-roo to Lucky Bay and then to Cowell. That's a boom for tourism!"
The Minister duly replied, "Well it is, and Wallaroo is booming....that ferry has really brought a lot of wealth."
In fact, Sea SA is delighted that the advent of the ferry has not only created a new tourist trail, but has become a major goods transport route short-cutting the Spencer Gulf to open up access and business opportunities never before possible between the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas. Together with the new infrastructure and local jobs Sea SA has created, we believe this is a win-win for the economy!
