More ferry services compared with last year as Sea SA moves to Winter timetable
SEA SA car & passenger ferries has announced that its Winter timetable will commence from tomorrow, Tuesday 27th May 2008, in line with off-season demand.
Two ferries will continue to operate across the Spencer Gulf between Wallaroo and Lucky Bay, providing more services than last winter, but the 7.30am and 4pm ferries will no longer be offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
All other services will remain the same, with ferries departing both terminals on weekdays at 7.30am (except Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays), 10.30am, 1.30pm and 4.00pm (except Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).
Weekend departures remain unaltered, with Saturday ferries scheduled from Wallaroo at 9am and from Lucky Bay at 12noon, and Sunday ferries departing both terminals at 12noon and 3pm.
“This winter, with two ferries in service, we are actually able to offer 30 sailings per week, compared with 28 sailings for the same period last year,” Sea SA Managing Director, Stephanie Dawson said. “However, as is usual in this business, we will operate 6 fewer sailings than in the busier Summer months.”
“We would expect to reinstate the mid-week services once demand picks up again, probably in mid-September in time for school holidays,” she added.
